" Where did you see on my website did it say that I would make you a private
video? That was not and is not part of the deal. You can buy the puppy or not
buy the puppy that is your choice. But there is a no refund policy posted in
my price list because you change your mind."

That doesn't sound a whole lot like someone who is trying to find the best possible placement for his puppies. Sounds like someone who is seriously interested in getting the $3k for little or no effort on anybody's part except the BITCH'S.

I second VomMarischal too, it indeed sounds exactly like that.

a video is too much trouble when selling $3000 puppies?

it was stupid smiley, to invest that much money in a puppy, but a lot of us have done stupid things when dealing with dogs. I can pretty much match most stories one could tell on how to get ripped off.

I think Lane shepherds own words posted here should alert most to the type person they are dealing with.

What hapenned to the said pup? was it sold to another customer? was there any loss incurred to the breeder? If there was no loss and eventhough the breeder's rules say no refund I believe the deposit money should be refunded to Smiley plus Smiley sets the record right that only the deposit was paid and not refunded, not the total puppy price as said before, just my humble opinion to resolve this sad transaction.

It is irrelevant how much this breeder charges for a Puppy, That is the business of the Breeder and the people who pay his price, What the issue is with smiley is that she says she has paid this Lane fellow $3000. and not recieved the Puppy, Lane says that he was only paid $600 deposit for the Puppy and that if Smiley does not have the Pup then she loses that deposit, and of that i fully agree what is the point of giving or asking for a deposit and then because the person buying changes there mind they then think they should get a refund, You may as well not charge a deposit in the first place for it serves no purpose
However as Ibrahim said did smiley pay the full $3000 dollars or did she just pay $600 Dollars deposit she bought it up on here and she should say how much she has paid this Lane  one or the other is not telling the truth, So smiley how much money have you paid to this Lane Guy

Yes, I will come back and post as I am a stand up person.

I think Lane may be correct that I did only pay the $600. It has been some time since this incident and I tried so hard to forget the whole thing. I honestly can't recall. In my mind, I had the $3000 purchase price in my head.  If I am wrong than I truly apologize. I paid with a money order like he wanted so I don't have a check record.... If I am wrong than I apologize as I didn't mean to exaggerate any claims. I, honestly tried to forget ever meeting him.

But, I do know that I sent a large amount of money and assumed he would accommodate my request for a short video showing the puppy's temperament. As you could see from my e-mail, I just asked for a short video as I was paying $3000 for a show/breeding quality puppy and I have a young child.  It was all there for everyone to read and it showed that I was telling the truth.

He told me that nowhere is it posted that he has to make videos and you can see how aggressive and abusive he is by his posts here.  I asked for my money back and he basically told me to go you know what.

Since this incident, I have learned that most breeders charge $100 deposit. In fact, I had one breeder send my deposit back when there was not an appropriate puppy in the litter.  Breeders have offered to make videos of puppies for me or had me contact an individual who temperament tested the puppies to ask them questions.

I did finally find a puppy from a local breeder- a couple weeks ago as I was so traumatized over this whole experience. I also was able to meet the dam and watch the puppy in different situations alone from her littermates.

I stand by my claim that this breeder is not ethical.  He was the most unprofessional breeder I have ever come across....

I could see if I sent the money and months later asked for a video. But, this all happened within days. I felt like if he could not accomodate my request than he should have sent my money back so I could find another breeder to work with.  What if I pay $3000 and the puppy is awful and shy/timid/agressive?

I have been so stressed out since I posted that I haven't been able to sleep. This guy really scares me.  If you think what he posted was bad you should have read his e-mails to me- horrific.  But, he is NOT a professional breeder. I DID file a complaint with the better business bureau as I did not know what else to do.  I stand by my cliams and you can see from the e-mails what i requested and how he responded.  They are all 100% true.  I am a good person and did not deserve what happened.

He is unethical, unprofessional, and a poor excuse for a breeder. I am not ashamed that I had enough courage to let people know about him as a breeder. I don't think he cares about placing his puppies in the right homes and he should try to place the right puppy with the right person.  I am only sorry that I may have messed up my facts.  But, it does not change the kind of person and human being he is.....it was evident for all to read.  I know I was stupid and I have learned my lesson.

I am not trying to hide anything....My name is Sara Minsk. I live in Mendon, Massachusetts.  If I recall his information wasn't posted anywhere on his website and I had to be given the information. I am not a boat rocker or someone who goes around slamming people.  I just wanted to warn people about this breeder....

Okay, again I think LaneShepherds should be courteous enough to refund Smiley the USD 600 as he made the customer scary to go through with the transaction by refusing to provide a video of the purchased puppy which is a simple thing to do for a far-away customer who can not make a visit to the breeders.

LaneShepherds,

Paying her money back is not a bad thing, it is the right thing, do not use your rules to ripp her off, your rules are not the bible, they can be adjusted/altered in this humane case, I don't think USD 600 is a small amount for a hard working family especially in these difficult days, please be a gentle man and refund her money.

ah smiley, it's best to state the truth up front. you lose quite a bit of credibility if you can't "remember" if you sent $3000 or $600. Quite a difference there.

anyway, best to you and my only advice is to write it down next time.

Well, all I can say is it has been years since this happened. I tried hard to forget everything so my fault for not remembering perfectly.

But, I could have just kept quiet when I saw him post but felt like I needed to do the right thing and tell people about him...I thought long and hard and tried to talk myself out of posting as these things never end well.

People can flame me all they want. But, everyone saw by his responses what kind of breeder he is and I was 100% truthful in saying he kept all my money and refused to send short video of tempermant of puppy. So, I sent a lot of money and within 2 days it was gone forever with no puppy and I was attacked and called names.

My only goal was to stop someone else from dealing with him as there are thousands and thousands of more ethical and professional breeders than him. He is a crook and an awful person.  I know I will never get my money back and shame on me for being so trusting.

I am kicking myself for not remembering everything correctly but I really had it in my head that it was the full amount as I know the price was $3000 for a breeding female with full papers.  However, whether $600 or more- the fact still remains that what he did by keeping all that money and calling me a bully for simply requesting a short video (everyone can read by my exact e-mail that I was very kind and considerate when I asked) or a refund shows his true colors.

All I want is for other people to be the judge on whether THEY want to deal with him. I was just sharing my experience as this breeder is not someone to put your trust in.  I am pissed at myself for screwing up the amount but what can you do. Story of my life...

I am done posting as I think he showed his true colors on his own and the message was clear....

Please just think twice about having dealings with this breeder.
