First of all are you measuring at the correct place 62 cm sound very small, are you standing him on a level surface and are you using a German Measuring stick.

I have a male that is breed surveyed and he is 62 cm. He doesn't look small until you stand him beside other dogs that are 65+.
He is very capable and can and does do anything a larger GSD can do. Remember ideal medium height for a male GSD is 63 cm. There are far too many over sized dogs getting around. It is not often that you come across correct medium sized males. BTW my boy is a Dual Champion (show & obedience).

@ dogshome9 - does a German measuring stick give a different result ? Just kidding. I guess you mean is he using a proper measuring stick ?
BTW it does seem that a German measuring stick gives a different result when measuring oversize dogs, they seem to be designated smaller than they actually are!

Sajid, your dog is closer to the correct size than dogs which are as Rantino said, predominantly oversized now, and he will be able to be shown as he is within the correct size range for the standard.

Sajid, the correct medium size for a GSD as per the breed standard is....62.5cm(25 inches)with a permissable 2.5 cm(1 inch)either above or below....thats is height at withers 60-65cms(24 inches-26inches)Weight 30kg to 40kg.Females correct medium size 57.5(23 in)with the same permisable 2.5cm(1 in)55-60cm(22-24 in)Weight 22kg to 32kg.BTW many gsds in the UK are oversized nthats why correct sized animals appear small.Good luck with your boy.Carole Spelman Rheinmeister gsds UK.

At 19 months old I doubt anything you do will make him taller, he will continue to fill out but is as tall as he is going to get.

62.5 cm is not 25 inches, more like 24.5".

62 cm makes a small male, bottom of standard just 24". Not very small, just small.
