It's been quite awhile since I have posted anything here but I am an avid reader/lurker.
My older male is quite easy to stack since he holds his steh command and allows me to place his feet where they need to go.
My almost 7 month old female is super high energy and super drivy so I haven't even attempted to train a "stay" command yet. She will hold her sits and platz's for a period of time, but have not worked on lengthening the duration of her steh command thus far. I would like to enter her in a show this winter while our training slows down (schH) a bit, but getting her to stack is well.... hard!
Any tips?
Her ball throws her into drive too much but food will work as will praise. Seems like all my "old tricks" for steh aren't working for this girl and like I said, we haven't worked on it at the club as of yet with her.
Here are a few febble attempts we got the other day while out for a walk.

Once this pup knows "Ready, Good, Yes, Nope and Done"
Teach a word that equates to stay still.......
Wear it out......
Then say the word, place the pup in a stack, repeat the word, saying good infront of the word. Reward the pup for being handled at first, then as it progresses for staying still as you mess with its feet.....
Give lots of treats for small victories
it takes about a month......after the pup understands marker training...

She is also fine with me touching her feet, legs, or where ever else I need too, but when we are out and about and there are things to do, see and smell, well... she will hold her "stay" for milla seconds... lol.
Guess I just need more time? Rinse and repeat... lol.
Thanks for your post!

I know first hand how hard it can be to get the busy body wiggle worms to stay put -
but it sounds like you are on the right stack...
......................................errrrr I mean track LOL

Also, any critiques on the stacks thus far? Anything you can pinpoint that I need to fix - I know a few obvious things like feet placement, but anything that will help showcase her would be awesome. I am headed out to training this Thurs., so I was going to have them help me too... LOL.
