Hi i would really appreciate if you guys can tell me what products worked for you. I need to treat my yard, house and dogs. Ok for yard i heard ( Diatomaceous Earth) a pool cleaner can be used its a powder substance pet and children friendly as its non toxic. Or maybe i can get a better sugestion. For my dogs i recently tried andvantage II noticed some fleas fell off but spotted one a week later. Thats why im treating yard and pets. i heard COMFORTIS is really good so i think ill try that for oral pet flea control. Has anyone tried comfortis?
                                                                                thank you very much

You must use "food grade" Diatomaceous Earth, not the pool cleaner as it is toxic.

Boric Acid. It is a non-toxic powder. You spread it on carpet and brush it in with a broom. Also put it on your dogs and brush it in. It completely breaks the cycle and will get rid of the fleas.

Ok for indoor bombs for yard food grade" Diatomaceous Earth, and pet I might stick to advantageII, should I stay away from comfortis as it is a drug? The previous home owner had bully dogs which I assumed had fleas so I cleaned but apparently used the wrong stuff.

Sevin is a good product for most things but if you have infestation, you are going to have to use a poisonous product in one form or another.
First thing I would do is figure out where the fleas came from, there is always a source, a host animal.

Moons.

Here is a link to a how to article on using Boric Acid to treat fleas in the house. I used it when I lived in Florida and had a terrible problem with fleas. It cleared up the problem and we never had issues with fleas again. It is definitely worth a try.

Comfortis is the best product out there for fleas it has the quickest kill. Vectra 3D is my second choice. Do not use Comfortis on any dog who has seizures, as it has been known to bring on a seizure episode. ONLY applies to dogs who have a history of seizures.

For the house, use a good commercial bomb, but be sure that it has IGR (insect growth regulator) listed on the can. Use enough cans to get good coverage for your house. Don't skimp.

Yards are more difficult. You almost can't find a yard product with IGR, as in general they are inactivated by UV light. Bayer does make a yard spray that is a pretty good product. We have used it at the veterinary hospital in the yard and it dids a good job.
