RLHAR,
I'm sorry I thought SUNSILVER was talking about this TYSON: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=484874
Which Tyson are you talking about?

Darylheret too thinks Wl dogs are perfect and the problems lie only in the camp of showline dogs, the GSD wl and show are closer and have more genes common than that of the dogs who started and shaped the breed long ago.

GSD was not designed to be a ring show dog and it was not meant to be a sport dog neither police dog. It is a working dog and Captain didn't say a working dog isn't a family dog in the end of the day.

I don't think that WL's are perfect at all, but I do think that they have less issues, in both character and fitness.

Sunsilver,
That is an interesting article but only part one.  Do you know where I can find part 2?

nypiper127 I never said there are no working line dogs with problems.  Your comments just seemed to "say" high drive working line dogs can't be around kids or live in a house.......That's all......  When I and many others on this same post know form experience that it's not always like that.  There are problem dogs in any lines sure......And I clearly already said that there "are" some working line dogs who are hecticly over the top in drive to the point it's a problem, but not all are....My point earlier was that not all will become like that.......You stated that most will.....    That is not what I wanted to hear? It's another "story".......When I said stories, it was just in reference to what you mentioned earlier....I could have said experiences, or what you've seen, etc....   See there, you just made the comment that, that's what's wrong with really high drives.....that the kids would be a chew toy because of it.  And that is not true!  That was my point earlier, high drives does not = mauling children.  Why is a trianed adult dog who is high drive going to maul children? Answer that? I know many breeders and trainers who have high drive Shepherds, some who compete in SchH, some who are police k9s, and other sports, around little children very often. Their kids aren't constantly in hospitals.   There are police k9s who live in the homes with the familiy/children as well.  As for what is a "problem"......It depends what we're talking about.  Something like "lack of drive" would not be because of a training problem, just as hectic or insane drives would not be because of lack of training.

nypiper127, I just don't want you to think that I think "all" WL dogs are faultless, that wasn't my intentions with my posts :)
