GSD....I would never bring myself down to that level nor would I ever mention the kennel name in a post.  I am contacting the GSDCA and will file a formal complaint.  My guess is that they will not do anything, but we'll see.

Thanks

Mike

very sorry to hear about Milo, this breeder should give you a replacement, but does not sound like a good breeder, hope you get  some thing out of this, i have also been down this road and have brought dogs , i should not, i guess we all have  learn from our mistakes not to trust. not all breeders are honest like we would think they should be.  good luck with your other pup.

You are wasting your time contacting GSDCA or filing using the Lemon Law protection, the only results you will get is publicly naming the Kennel and save someone else from heartache. They all stick together like glue.  You will be better off next time finding a hobby breeder that knows genetics and is not involved in politics of the so called professional breeders.  I have been in your shoes.  Florida Gov. Lemon Law sends a letter to the breeder and the breeder does not have to respond, what a joke!  The breeder I delt with changed their name so when you name the kennel, the pedegree (expose them all) name the person also.

I heard back form the committe chair of the GSDCA.  It turns out that the breeder has never signed the code of ethics and is not a member.  That is unfortunate.  I guess I will try and contact the AKC since they have a Breeder of Merit tag on their site.

if you do not post the name of the breeder, others will be ripped off.

You are wrong, defender, the GSDCA will punish a member who signs the breeder's code if they violate one of those codes. They can't hang them high in the town square, but they can suspend or revoke their membership. If this GSD breeder is a member of that club and promotes itself as being a Breeder of Merit, then it will be expected to sign and agree to the code. If not a member, then the breeder is falsely promoting his affiliation with the GSDCA and the club should contact him and tell him to remove that from his website. If a member and if he didn't sign the code, then there's not much to do.

Too bad you didn't live in PA when you filed the lemon law complaint. The PA Federation of Dog Clubs would have helped you. They introduced that legislature in PA and are bound to see that it is enforced.

I just checked their site and the tag states Breeder of Merit Tag from the AKC, not GSDCA.  I will state the kennel name once everything plays out.  i want to give them the opportunity to make things right.
