Kitkat: Like I said earlier, ain't always the dogs fault you didn't excel.

Great point, Kitkat (emphasis added onto your statement by me) and something that these use-and-discard crowd rarely realize.  They rarely look at themselves as the problem, when the dog falls short.  The hapless dog of course is painted as the villain and pays the price.

by Blitzen on 06 January 2013 - 14:01

LOL. Kitkat. Does telling my dog - mommy loves you and letting her sleep in my bed make me a humanizer too?

The judge even told me, your dog OK, you, not so good, lol. I've heard that too, don't feel alone. "Are you handling that dog or is the dog handling you?"

Dogs are NOT humans, they are NOT fur kids and anyone who humanizes them, does them a diservice. Dogs do NOT have nor understand morals and sense of duty, they are instinctive animals. In the KNPV, 98% of dogs are sold as soon as they certify, on the spot, at the trial. KNPV members buy a puppy, raise, train and certify it and sell it and start all over, again and again.
Military dog handlers change dogs like they change their undewear since most of those dogs fail training and when a handler get re-assigned, the dog stays at the current base/location.
When I buy a dog, I do it because I NEED and MUST have a dog that works, daily. It does not compete, it does not train for competition, it works and if that dog, for whatever reason does not meet those work standards, it will be replaced, without any guilt on my part.

I will tell you what does suck though...it sucks to own a working dog that has been forced to live a life of boredom in the house. It sucks to have an animal like that burping with boredom while its genetics scream for drive expression, but, because some people want to keep their dogs for life, they cannot bear the thought of placing that dog in a home in which it can flourish. What sucks is people getting enmotional about their dogs and allowing them to live a life they were never meant to, simply because THEY, not the dog, cant stand to lose the dog. Have a great day.

This is the other side of the medal - and it sucks, too.

Hired dog- that is where the responsibility of the breeder comes in. We all know not all dogs are bred equal.
When you produce a litter, you know what you got.
ANYONE that places a well bred, true working dog into the home of an inexperienced owner, that has no plans to work that dog to some degree, is doing a great dis service to the dog, the breed and the owner.
There are also lots of german shepherds that just love their lives taking on the active family life.
And me, I LIVE WITH MY DOGS, EVERYDAY. They are not only part of my life, family when it is convenient for me. They are always here.
I love my dogs, and I proudly state, I humanixe them.. Theyare treated HUMANELY.
blitzen, I have had many three dog nights, when it's cold at night, the more the merrier in bed with me.

My dog is an only child, KitKat. She's big, almost 80 lbs, takes up a lot of room. Not sure 2 more plus 2 adults would fit in the queen sized Sleep Number (she's a 55 BTW).

Some believe dogs are food, some think killing flies and rats is wrong. Opinions are like butt holes we all have them and they all smell, except yours. LOL Ones foundation of ALL truth is where their morals come from.

I see people arguing over nothing, creating arguments where there are none, just to disagree with people they don't like.

Case in point, inaccurate jabs made at me and my dogs by the usual suspects. This had nothing to do with me, but  dragged my name into it, and another one posted quotes from me that I never even said, in another sad attempt to derail a thread and make it a bash-fest on me. Why don't you guys just start a new section on the PDB to do that rather than dirty up the whole board with your agenda? I assure you, many are very sick of reading the same crap over and over and as Tropicalsun pointed out, it's pretty obvious and juvenile, as well as transparent.

If you choose to continue, you need to get your facts straight at least before you go screaming "hypocrite" at me. You're wrong, as usual, especially workingdogz, but I guess that's the main benefit of being an anonymous - you can post whatever you want as fact without ever worrying you'll be humiliated when you're called out as a liar. For the record, my very good friend was the one looking for a dog for me- in his name. He didn't go around telling people he was looking for a dog for some American chick no one had ever heard of. He wanted to help me get a GOOD dog, not just an imported dog. 50+ years in the business, he was not exactly naive. So, I guess saying she was offered to him first is accurate- she was offered to him because he was the one looking!  We'd been searching for over 8 mos. or so before Capri came up. You're thinking of the other bitch I almost bought, that someone else in the states bought, though I'm really not sure why you care so much about what I do. It's a tad creepy . Just sayin'. Anyway, Snoopy v Fasanerie, as did Sid v. Fasanerie, resided in Wisconsin in his later years, with Larry Filo, who has also had many years of experience importing through Hans and Regina.  Not sure what you think you're "exposing" with your bizarre little snippets there. As for Durbas, Steve (Lino) saw Durbas himself when he was very young (under a year or barely a year) and had his eye on him. When he was proven to be what Steve wanted, several months later, I'm sure Hans and Regina helped get him here. They've been friends for eons. Again, another juicy tidbit....not. Thinking

As to Dolce, she is none of your business. Ask AKC who owns her if you're so curious. I am not going to drag Debby into this any more than she already has been by a  misquote in an attempt to smear me (and accidentally, her). Nowhere did I or anyone else say a breeder should not replace dogs who aren't suitable for breeding. This was just a stab in the dark and it was an epic fail. Dolce's life is happy and I will make sure it continues on that path. Enough said.

I don't see anyone who says a dog should never or can never be sold or placed. Most agree getting a dog with the mentality that you'll just replace it 6mos. down the road if you don't like the way it's tail curls or it's not getting you to the podium fast enough it inherently "wrong" for lack of a better descriptive. That's the "revolving door" that bugs people, I think. JMO.

I apologize to everyone else about my waste- of- time-and-forum-bandwith response to workingdogz. Continued false statements by cowards who state things as fact, dropping names to make them seem legit, but won't stand by them with their names really get under my skin and I just can't let trash like that stand unchallenged. Now, I have a Harlem Globetrotters game to take my son to and my mom is coming with us and I need to clean my truck out, or listen to her complain that it smells like dogs (even thought it doesn't to anyone else, lol) the entire ride.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
