Why should anyone care about what someone else believes. Its a dog. Some worship them and others dump them off like garbage. But to some they are just a tool. It take a real bond to bring the best out of them but some do not seem to need the best out of a dog. If it belongs to you do as you please, if you do not like what someone does with their dog do not seel them one.

Really what make a dog different then a cow? It is just your preception. Some worship cattle and some worship dogs. People eat them both. They are not humans they are animals. Build the relationships you desire, and do not expect others to agree with you. We have all been wrong before and will be wrong again.

I in principal understand  and like as such  you libertarian approach. But it saddens me.
Also I would like to say that it is not necessarily "worship" which people have towards their dogs. I would rather use word  "understanding" leading to  "love" .
If we understand things or animals  we appreciate them more and often because of that we love them. Herpetologist may love  their gecko or boa. And horseman my love their horse because they understand them.  And we all love our true friends.   It is easy not to love something we do not fully understand. May it be our neighbor or horse or cat or country or anything.
English has only one word for love. Greeks have at least 5 words for love (philiaerosagapestorge, and xenia.) and they all mean something else.I think most applicable Greek  word  for love we feel towards out dogs would be Philia.
Philia means friendship or affectionate love in modern Greek. It is a dispassionate virtuous love, a concept developed by Aristotle. It includes loyalty to friends, family, and community, and requires virtue, equality and familiarity. In ancient texts, philos denoted a general type of love, used for love between family, between friends, a desire or enjoyment of an activity, as well as between lovers. ( Quote from Wikipedia)

"This is simply who dogs are," Dr. Karen Overall, an animal behavior expert, told Yahoo! Shine. "We have had a close, cognitive, emotional and working relationship with dogs for tens of thousands of years, and we have both been changed by that history. Dogs are heroic to us because they live up to that relationship."

Dargo, the "legendary stud and best friend" was sold?  Wow, that is very surprising news to me.

Perhaps more than once.....

imho, it's best to admit that the owner of the dog decides if it is alright to sell the dog for any reason and not be judgmental about it.
And to give you a guilt trip....there is another thread going on with the dog lying near its masters casket.

Bonding takes attention and time.  Not all dogs bond to their owners especially if stuck in a kennel with no interaction.  Moving them around does little harm in most cases unless they are of poor nerve and get stressed easily.

On the other hand if you spend a lot of time with a dog, and like a dog, chances are you'll bond as strongly as them.  Those are the owners that keep it through thick and thin.
If the dog isn't a good match for you, you will not be bonded to it, and it is better off with someone else.

I just placed a nice dog that wasn't working for me, or my other dogs.

Morally that was the right thing to do, sheis much happier where she is. Financially it was the wrong thing to do...she was a titled import, surveyed and scored etc!

Breeding and trading/brokering, totally different to pet homes. Competition dogs, well, if they don't work out, then the owner may be unhappy, dog knows this and is therefore unhappy. Better to carefully rehouse.

if the puppy doesn't have the disired qualities for sports you schould get another one, but return the bad one to the breeder if you keep him for about a year and then you say he's not good than it's your problem breeder can't help it if you give him poor trainning/ etc.
if you select a puppy for breeding you go check out the litter to see what puupy would be yours letting another person select a dog for your breeding program is stupid if you do so please stop breeding; the problems in breeding are already big enough, breeding programs don't need another "breeder" that doesn't know anything about bloodlines and just makes lucky guess outcrosses based on titles etc.
