Some History!
When schutzhund in America phenomena began to explode back in the late '70s and early 80's many of we newcomers started with American-breds.  Some were pretty good.  Eager to learn, our club hosted two or three trial/seminars per year with SV(L) judges.  The first wave of SV judges advised "Your dogs are OK but they need to be "harder".
So we started to import "tougher" dogs.  My pal, Hal Ratliff quipped "We would buy billy goats, if they bit hard!"  The next wave of SV judges remarked,  "Your dogs bite hard, but they are ugly."

they need to keep selling dogs to the states makes the most money, nobody spends more money on bigtitled importdogs than american breeders, these day's chineze are aften more intresting buyers because americans demand health test and chinese often don't and spend even more money
look past titles and big names and always remember that european judges think about money when they hear of america, we see judges leaving to the states to give seminars etc, while we keep on demanding around what dog they ever trainned themselves here in europe answer often is zero dogs wurth talking about, but they are judgesWink Smile

nobody spends more money than Americans on GSD, next sentence, the Chinese spend more money than anybody on GSD. This is a prime example of why you must get involved with ''hands on'' GSD world. These rants do nothing to educate and forward the movement.

by kyto on 23 March 2013 - 09:03

don't educate??? help "the movement"??? start thinking about it instead of waitng untill somebody chews it for you people are spending 10.000-20.000 euro's on dogs because they have big titles, hips rated a elbows0
retake the pictures if they got SV ratings and check the spine while you are at the vet, take a normal vet and not an SV approved vet and sedate the dog not like they do it here somethimes to get better results
and true i don't want to help a movement like SV/WUSV instead i'm helping some people here who want to start a rsv2000 club SV/WUSV is all aubout money and politics the destruction of the GSD is a direct result of that
so stop bitching about sentences and start working dogs like they schould be and kick out the moneydiggers instead of comming to their aid unless youre one of them ofcourse, than please get yourself a cat instead and leave the GSD to people who really care about it

No European is forcing anybody to buy any kind of dog. It´s every ones own choice.
sad truth is - most of the people buying adult dogs (in my case German Shepherds) know less more than nothing about bloodlines, working abilities, temperament, and standard.
They are not willing to raise, train, and title a dog of their own, they are not willing to LEARN about training and titling/showing.
Training German Shepherds means standing up early, training during rain and snow, spending a lot of time and money, making faults, but learning from doing so....
People try to buy success instead of working on it - it´s their decision...
As long as people are not willing to learn by doing, times will never change.
Talking or writing instead of doing doesn´t help at all, but it´s easier to buy than to train.
I said it before, and I´ll say it again: During the decades I have seen a lot of very good American bred puppies out of the 1. imported generation, but almost all of them are and were lost for the breed, because people are not willing to move their a## and develop them.
