Can you clarify that a bit? I'm running on empty after massive flooding, so I may be just missing it, but I've read that 3 times and don't quite have it clear yet. So you did not own the dog in the link, but owned a littermate? And this littermate was named Aaron? Or is Aaron another dog entirely? Sorry...I'm lost. Red Smile

vonissk is referring to the litter out of Yello vom Haus Iris and Ola vom Felsenschloss.  I can't speak to the business side of things, but the breeder did report multiple puppies with HD/ED issues, despite Ola going OFA Excellent.  Ola was euthanized in her prime for a hereditary condition as well.

The dogs producing these problems are direct imports, they are not a product of breeding practices in the US.

Thank you Romp...my mentor owned the dog but I  knew the dog as well, his name was Aaron and he was the littermate to the dog I posted. Sorry Jenn I made it confusing.................I just wanted to share what I personally knew--exactly as Romp said. At this time Yello is also dead--no don't ask me--I did know but I will make it more confusing.

Less confusing would be
registered name: condition
.... I get too confused with all the daughter of the brother to stuff:). Old  I guess!

Got it.

Thank you. So sad, these early deaths. Sad Smile

RompNRun, could you post or pm me Ola's condition that she was euthanized for? My dog's sire is Oskar v Felsenschloss. I referred to him (not by name though I don't think?) in my previous post in this thread. Is Okki the only one still alive from that litter?

Yes it is Jenn and as far as Yello goes I am thinking at least a couple of years by now. I know the whole deal and I'm not here to bash anyone, just to share information on dogs I personally know about. In the future I will try to make things more clear.

So far, I don't think anyone is here to bash, which is certainly refreshing. But if everyone posted what they KNEW to be true, it would sure help fill in some blanks as far as pedigrees and where stuff is coming from.

I have a litter w/Sando as the paternal grandsire and knock on wood, 4 years old in June, so far so good. No health issues I'm aware of. I am in regular contact with nearly 100% of them, and all of them occasionally. No one has dropped off the map entirely. There were 9. Actually, my few DDR dogs have been extremely healthy. I lucked out.

Tanya Yost of Sudenblick was the last owner of Yello. Maybe she could post the truth about what really happened to him...Im not meaning there was anay foul play on her part, but she could answer alot questions since she is very knowledgeable about DDR lines.

Well I have had some DDR dogs over the years, and I LIKE THEM...
I have not encountered any health issues in any of them.
I bought a DDR female from Rick Anton also. Everything was just as promised.
I told him "who" and "what" I was looking for,and that is what I got.
And yes, you do need to know your lines, meaning the dogs in the particular. line.
There is no such thing as too much info when buying a German Shepherd.
