Elkoorr

Tunguska likes to bark after cars while in the car, with a catch-it turn in the crate.....utterly annoying. None of mine is really found of other dogs. They make the car shake when someone is walking by, with Apache being the ring leader. He gets very aggressive towards other males, loves girls.... so we try to pair up with girls or indifferent males. This part makes me worried about showing him, needs a very experienced handler. And he is wonderful with puppies, gentle and playful.

Question I wanted to ask earlier too: Any experience in the DDR lines with more than normal tooth wear? Both of mine have quite a bit, and I start seeing it on Ava as well. Yes, they do schutzhund, but compared to other dogs who are doing it, it seems that theirs are worn down much more.

Elkoorr, I really need to have Apache. I had just about lost faith in the DDR bloodines after my recent experiences.  I think he could restore that faith!  Teeth Smile   Heart

I've noticed the DDR dogs having much larger teeth (onger, wider canines in particular)  than my dogs of other lines. I wonder if tooth wear isn't more evident because they started out so much larger, therefore more "in the way" with carrying of objects (like rocks, lol) ? Caleb was down to probably half of the tooth he used to have, but he had HUGE teeth, the biggest I'd ever seen on a dog. They were so large, the natural history museum took DNA samples to study him.

Hutchins, Apache is only half DDR.

Thats ok, Jenni, I'll still take him.  Whats the other side of the pedigree? Just looking at him I would think Czech???

When I started bitework with Oda, one of the first things the decoy said was how big her teeth were. They're not giant, but they are larger than my other females, for sure.

I just wanted to go back to Yello for a minute. It is my understanding that he had some sort of a gastric problem and even the vet wasn't sure about it at the end. OK Tonya told me what little I can remember about his death. For the last few days I have looked for that conversation between us and I cannot find it. So just wanted to tell what little I do remember. Also she didn't just tell me what I posted but the whole deal..................

Vonissk, Tanya and I had many conversations about Yello and many other DDR dogs and bloodlines. That is why I said maybe if she could post the truth about Yello, no one would be wondering. She does have a very vast knowledge of the DDR bloodlines. I do remember a list she made that detailed many issues with lines that are very common in many DDR pedigrees today.  Would be a very helpful learning tool.

Vonissk, here is the information that Tanya gave me in regards to Yello's death and I quote it exactly as it was told to me..
