To the OP

The breeding I did was with Kim's male Rookie, Just Fagen vom Kistha Haus and my female Phoenix.  Phoenix is predominately DDR and Czech lineage and is a fairly high drive girl.  The breeding produced 11 puppies that are now 3 years old.  The majority of those puppies developed to be medium drive dogs, with a few in the higher drive category. Several went into pet homes and a few to beginner/newbie sport homes. One is currently training and competing for herding titles and another has done well in nosework and obedience.   The female I kept from the litter really bloomed late as is expected for East German Lineage.  She has great structure and a desire to please.  She has also shown strengths in working livestock with a nice natural balance and not over the top prey drive.

I have seen several progeny of the breeding you refer to (Rookie x Tika)  I am aware that several from that breeding have excelled in sport work and I believe one is a working police K9 in the midwest somewhere.  There is a young male local to me that I saw at a recent herding event and at around a year, he did well for his first time on sheep.

My experiences with Rookie's offspring is that he generally produces easy to live with, medium drive with above average desire to please. He also has very dark pigment and a big blocky head that he seems to pass along to his pups.

Martina was correct in her statement that vom Gildaf K9 has a female out of Rookie x Tika (Mako) and she has also done a breeding with another Kistha Haus dog- Just IsAdorable vom Kistha Haus "Izzy".  Izzy is out of Rookie and Centra aus der Birkenschäferei.

I am not sure what you are hoping to do with your puppy but I hope my experiences with and observations of the progeny I have known are helpful.

My female is Kali V Ludwigseck. She's a bit of a kook, extremely high drive. She is my "screamer".
That is "only" if you dare think you are doing something without her, or if Duke is going somewhere without her.
She is an extremely high drive dog. Her temperment is fantastic. She is also 100% safe with children. My grandkids climbed all over her when they were all a little younger. She is just three.
She passed her temperment onto her pups, although that temperment of the pups is the same as their father, Xolton V Bullinger, (he is GSL, but I have to say, he also is a fantastic dog, extreme drives and super-duper with all kids).
Kali is a highly motivated dog. She wants to, and has to be busy, busy, busy.
She will not back down from confrontation either.
I have not had any health issues or concerns from her since day one.
I don't worry about bloat. My dogs eat whatever and whenever they want.
They have access to ample food and water 24/7. I have no gulping/guarding the food bowl dogs.
My other little DDR girl is totally different from Kali. She is a much more laid back, calm and collected dog.
Both my DDR girls are what I consider to be fantastic, wouldn't trade em for nothing dogs.
And my dog that I repeatedly brag about that is a police dog is the grandson to Flex V Modenessor, also DDR.
The trooper that has him tells me he too has a wonderful temperment.
He can put in a day on the streets 0olicing, than come home and lay around the house the house with his small child.
Everything a German Shepherd should be!

My dogs have a lot of DDR in them but are not 100% DDR although I am always looking for 100% DDR studs to breed with.
It is hard sometimes to get full disclosure about health or temperament problems in other breeders dogs.
It should not be like pulling teeth.
I have learned so much about certain lines just from people calling me wanting a pup, and I ask them what their previous GSD died from and how old was he, where did you get him from......

I would get a pup from Kim in a heartbeat if I were in the market, my dogs share some of the same bloodlines as her dogs,
so I am bias.
Do it, get a pup from:Wink Smile http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=1944048-orion-vom-kistha-haus

Good luck decidingTeeth Smile

I also would get a pup from Kim, in a heartbeat, IF I was not getting my Bomber pup. (I have been admireing Bomber for too long a time to pass up a pup from him and Catty)(although Catty is czech, her lines go back to some DDR lines that I also love, so I sort of kill two birds with one stone).
Kims dogs are "absolutely beautiful", and I have not ever heard anything negative about her or her dogs.
And I do a lot of DDR researching...

Has anyone looked at the date on this? Pretty sure that ship has sailed...............

I did not look at the date, but I do think I seen an ad now for pups from that breeder, so if THAT ship already set out to sea, the next one will be sailing soon,lol...
Anyone that was interested in a DDR dog has an opportunity,I think, to get what I feel, is a very nice one NOW.
(Again, I could be wrong, I do not look at the dates on posts, or ads)

Interesting comments on the soft teeth..I have almost 10 yo Bea v Poppitz and a 12 yo mostly DDR rescue (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=398905-cara-vom-edelwald-ii) and their teeth are practically level with the gum line, even the canines.  I don't know if the cause is diet, drive or genetics, but these two have teeth that are way more worn that any other 10 yo GSD that I have ever had.

I don't know about anyone else's DDR dogs, but mine will, if bored, entertain themselves with "rocks" if they can get their teeth on them.
