SM, assuming that 'wolf' is a captive animal being as it's not killing the little dog next to it, one could also assume that it is suffering from malnutrition and lack of proper exercise. Therefore, it is not an accurate representative of a true Wolf.

we can all count to two joan :-)
the wolf pic is just another case of someone providing the worst possible example in order to try prove a point and failing.

Here's an interesting comparison of the gait of an American dog vs. a German showline, done by Linda Shaw:
The one thing that catches my attention is the way the curved back causes the German dog to bend its knee out to the side. I can't see this being good for the dog's joints over the long term.

A Schaferhund is not a horse or hyena or cat or wolf or a husky,it was never intended to mimic any of them, It is a herding dog that can be used for many purposes, as such it is a trotter. German Shepherd Dogs exhibited in the show ring vary greatly painting all of them with the same brush is being dismissive and seeks to trivialize those doing their best to produce a dog within the system that was created by the founders of the breed. Showing is a requirement within the system laid out by the founders no matter what the bloodlines.

don't get the pic? which ones were american and which were german??

Linda Shaw's drawings are not real dogs and do not represent the breed, again very dismissive
