I hear the same "massive bone and huge head" comments coming out of some working line breeders.

Unfortunately you do find these massive dogs with huge heads in both lines,
but I´ve never seen a dog like this before - I really hope it´s a cross...

Thanks, SS. I'm not too lazy, I just never noticed that. I normally sign on here, read/respond to the few posts that interest me and sign out Red Smile

I hope too it's a cross, but I'll be suprised if it is. Look at Dingo compared to a few of the most recent BSZS winners. The change isn't hard to see.

Kitkat: C'mon now Blitzen, these dogs can't be out of real German doggs, they seem to be the "only ones" that know how to breed correct dogs!
Didn't you hear?

You seem to think so, too, otherwise you would  buy American bred dogs instead of a Bomber puppy, a DDR line puppy, and a Kevin puppy.
But it´s funny, I don´t think so, and I´m German - something is wrong.
I have seen several good dogs in the States and as an American I´d buy one of them.

Geez, I think we need a sarcasm emoticon, so statements like SM's don't get taken at face value... Confused Smile

I'm guessing they aren't known for breeding top working dogs?

Very interesting link. Start at the bottom and work your way up to Remo, the evolution of changes are so obvious. I think the females are holding their own better than the males.

I'd love to see the pedigree on that dog.
some close but not as extreme.

It's a gradual change I think. A GSD doesn't go from  Dingo to the dog we are talking about in a few generations and there has to be a conscious effort to select for a dog that exhibits that head and/or is known to produce it.. The first thing I notice about Echo's head  is that his skull is beginning to take on a domey shape exaggerating his stop. The plains of his skull and muzzle are no longer parallel to one another. His flews are not tight fitting and he has a excess of skin on his brow giving him a "tragic" expression (or as someone else said a Sharpei look).
