Blitzen
I am right there with you. I think every dog should have a job, even if its job is to play with a child. I will say I beleive everyone should have the right to breed what ever they want to and as often as they want and the government should not get involved. when the government gets involved they go too far and never stop. That being said most breedings make me stand back and shake my head. But I also want to have the right to do with my dogs how I want.

I am not trying to say anything wrong with the American Showlines, some of my dogs have a few including Lance also. My one male is half American Showline with Loyalvils Achtung Hans being his father. He is one of the strongest dogs I have ever dealt with. SOLID AS A ROCK.

Well Blitzen I've always been someone's enemy, but I could care less. LOL
Yes I know the Am peeps don't raise puppies the same as the WL, but I do. I think it is cool to watch the light come on. And since I have been involved with the people I now am, they like it too cause they do theirs the same way. And I'm not talking about my mentor cause that's a given but I am talking about other "show" people in my life. They like the mixing of the lines and they believe the gsd is to remain a working dog. I know this big puppy I have was raised that way--he's got far too much drive and want to to not have been. The general show breeder would have cut that down in the beginning.
Paul as always good to see your comments--I think you are someone I'd like to pick their brain a while. LOL
But then again all good things have to come to an end. I see some things change and some will always be the same cause you can't fix stupid. Back in my hole, back to my goals and dreams that I refuse to let be worn down by those who have no clue. I had been wondering about Smiley and her girl and couldn't help but stop by. On the flip flop you guys and those people know who I/m talking to..................

The pound and rescue orgs. It's gotten to the point that if your GS doesn't have funky back legs people assume it's a mix?

Ones things for sure screening has gotten much better for good Hips and Elbows and other health issues, many of the great working german shepards of modern times wether bred currently in the USA or world wide can be trased back to at least the 1960s give or take, of what came out Germany and other european countrys,I do find it odd that high sch scores of say very near 300 were more common place in the 1970,s and 1980,s than whats found in modern sch scores at high level compitition events today,,I suspect the judges were a bit more on the easy side back then for giving better scores, but whos to say, many great current modern bloodlines really blossomed back in the 70,s and 80,s and in some breeding kennels continue to progress in a very positive way for the breed.

Good post Vonissk:   I may  have to come see that boy you speak of..How are things going up your way...?

Yes, today we must take a more reverend look  into the lines and do the breeding we know works , like I posted a few weeks ago from one hard german man...Damn the titles..If it works and is a GSD , barks like one, is one , and has a TOTO , I am breeding it.
