I have spent hours searching, read many forums, and articles. It is a bit overwhelming for someone. I would really appreciate any help in finding a breeder. I am owned by a beautiful 9-year female GSD given to me years ago. I love the rich beautiful coats and looks of the West German Show. I am looking for an addition to our family of 1 cat, 1 pomeranian, and 1 GSD. Thank you for all your feedback.

Hello~ there was a member here that I have not seen in a while. Maybe someone can help recall her name. She is from California and I briefly met her, her husband and their handler at the NASS in 2010 ( to the best of my knowledge) seemed like great people and she had a gorgeous male that did well if I remember right. I will post the. And if I can remember or find my program.

In northern CA I would recommend

Randy Tyson http://www.witmertyson.com/german_shepherds

Rita Ledda http://www.vomhausledda.com/about_us.htm

Heidi Thies - yes I know she's in Idaho but sometimes co-breeds w/ Randy and is here often for shows and trials http://www.theishof.com/

Rebecca Rogers http://www.valkyre.com/

All four ladies have decades of experience and honorable business transactions. All hold a wealth of knowledge and all have owned or bred or handled  very successful hi-line dogs ( and often also top working dogs). Randy I believe had the first or 2nd USCA Sieger. In other words they know their stuff.

Do you know yet what you hope to do with the new pup - couch potato, herding star, show ring, agility?? Will help to define the dog you get. Also have you thought about age - pup vs juvenile vs young adult?

May I suggest strongly you consider a male. In the GSD world IF they do not get along generally speaking the worst combo is two bitches - tho you ay be lucky and not get that problem

Good luck, Good hunting and don't forget to introduce to the new family member when he or she joins you. Pictures are requested if not obligatoryWink Smile ... Shift+R improves the quality of this image. CTRL+F5 reloads the whole page.

BTW Menlo had a trial this weekend. Hope to be there on Sunday.

Thank you for the feedback. I truly appreciate it. My GSD is amazing with our pomeranian and cat. They get along great. My female is truly a "mother" to everyone. The new puppy will do some agility, flyball, and eventually I would like to train her for dog therapy like my current GSD. My current GSD has a little drive, her mom was west german working and dad was american show.  I am worried about buying a dog out of state. I would really like to meet the parents. I have emailed a couple of kennels based on some of the adds on this website like http://www.teamnummereins.com/. Anyone heard of them? I contacted the ones suggested above too.

OMG.....LOVE the video!!!!! My dog, like yours,  would be in heaven chasing those birds!!! hahaha

Try  Victory German Shepherds in California owned by the Tanks. They breed ASL/GSL crosses like your current dog. I actually like one of their german studs who finished his AKC Championship (pretty rare feat with german blood). Good luck!!
