Thank you so much for sharing and this story gave me a warm heart and smile for the day. Congratualtions to the guys and it is awesome to see new people in a sport dominated by the large kennels. It is difficult going and stories like this give hope and also deaden the excuses of politics for placements rumors.

A newspaper to advertize Chakhakhan kennels! lol..

You're right, thomasreid; this year's NASS results were very favorable for a few of us underdogs (I'm the breeder and owner of Ne plus ultra Fatimo "Timo" whom went VP1 in the 3-6 months Males Baby Puppy Class after turning 3 months old on the first day of the Breed Show!).  This was my very first time showing one of my pups and, truthfully, I was just hoping to return home with a VP on the tail end; though not because I didn't think my boy had great potential, but because I just assumed that a small kennel such as mine would have a difficult time as a result of the politics that I always hear people complaining about.  Well, to my surprise, I was wrong and I couldn't be more proud of Timo!  Perhaps a bit premature, some have already prognosticated that he'll be a future VA GSD if all of the pieces of the puzzle continue to fit--we'll see:-).

Again, thomasreid, thanks for sharing your story.  I, too, hope that it will serve as inspiration and encouragement to the underdogs and eventually alleviate the politics, or perception thereof, that I always hear people complaining about.

Congrats RAHJ and Timo. I have seen several Waiko progeny with what I consider very nice structure, especially shoulder.

There is much more to Timo then his looks......

Timo is a super confident puppy who just loves everyone.....

Since Ricky was unable to stay for the whole show, and Timo was needed for the progeny group, I was given the opportunity to care for him and transport him back to AL after the show and I enjoyed that little guy very much.

His temperament is exactly what a GSD should be!

He's a smart pup, who is always excited to jump out of his crate, he ate eat with gusto no matter what his surroundings were, told me every time he needed to go in advance so I could stop the car, he is happy to go on potty walks and do his business no matter the distraction, he played chase with any toy or stick I happened to put in front of him, he never acted hesitant or afraid ... and best of all he always had a lick for my nose.....

Rumor has it that  .... Ricky may be re-breeding his female to Waiko one more time before she's retired....... this litter will be sought after... if you're interested, getting on the list quickly the only way to ensure a puppy.
