So i have noticed a lot of older Shepherds , or Shepherds ,that their ears did not stand up , being Dumped in Shelters   . I know we can not save them all , but if you have a shepherd like the above mentioned , or maybe having behavior problems .Talk to someone first there are rescues out there.I live in Colorado I have saved 12 dogs to date, i know this is not alot but i try,. i have taken dogs from all over. one of my Best stories is a 18 month old male that i have now. From Germany ,trained over there,in protection , people brought him here, did not know how to handle him.now i have him he has been re-socailized and is a great dog. They just need love and understanding,so if you thinking of dumping one of these dogs at the shelter ,look for resourses first. you can call me i will do the leg work ,to find the nearest Shepherd rescue near you. and if your in Colorado   ,NM      , Ks , Wy i might come get the dog myself! thanks for listening .......

Every time I suggest that a puppy's ears be supported to improve its weak ears, I get lambasted.............
If fixing some ears keeps them out of a shelter, I'm all for it.

I have 2 fosters right now, both have little or no training.

If it weren't the ears, it would be something else.

I think a lot of people would be amazed how many dogs are turned down for adoption because of a floppy ear or two. They are much harder to get adopted.

And people like that are allowed to adopt a GSD with erect ears?
