PreMate sell for about $175 You get about 10 test from one Premate kit. I was told the blood show a certain color in the vile when progesterone reaches 5ng. I'm think about trying the premate but would like to here from people that have used. Then I must learn to draw blood from my Female or get my vet to do it.

As per the advice of experienced veterinarians and reproductive specialists, I would not try these on a German Shepherd Dog. They are widely used by many other breeds, but, aren't successful in the GSD. The best way to find the progesterone levels is by sending the blood to the nearest laboratory....for me that is Idexx Laboratories. We did try the PreMate tests, and they were not accurate as compared to the laboratory tests, or that of an experienced male....
