Dear Mr Helser, The historical information you posted under Blondi Topic is to me, as it must be for many, a truly mind-boggling revelation. I appreciate you making such a stupendous effort. Have you considered compiling all of your material into book form? Clearly, that which you narrated is only short synopsis of larger body of work. Only few would have ken of, or realise sheer scope and size of underpinning logistics, behind Shepherd's involvement in the two Wars. I think most fanciers, if anything like me, would thirst to know more. Specially as to finer points related to training, housekeeping and breeding (if army did any at all, that is?) Any exposition of Shepherd's contribution to unsavoury activities may well provoke disapproval from a certain quarter, but one can hardly blame the animal for man's dismal inhumanity, nor should this prevent disclosure of a truthful, historical record.
