120 years ago the American pointer King Cyrano was born, in August 1898. He is best remembered for having been one of the most impeccably trained dogs ever seen at an American field trial. Polished to perfection by his trainer Walter Updyke, King Cyrano had several trial wins and placings in Illinois, Ohio, Iowa and South Dakota. At stud he played a lesser part but one of his offspring was Lady Cyrano Rush, mother of Manitoba Rap (who we previously have described on this page).
