I have just lost my german shepherd and unfortunately we never mated him so do not have any direct progeny off him so am looking to see if I can find any. His grandfather is on here Astana Santo at Sorento, as his his great grandfather Yello Vom Haus Schwerzel. Anything forward from that though I cannot find. Our dog was purchased from a couple who bought him from somewhere between Telford (Shropshire) and Penkridge (Staffordshire) in the United Kingdom.
I have the names of my dogs parents and of his breeders name but cannot find a trace . I have been in touch with the British Kennel Club as he was KC registered but as yet have not received a reply. As his grandfather and other descendants are on here I am hoping someone might be able to help me. Thank you

Replicating your special dog through a pedigree or bloodline is going to be difficult.  I would spend my time finding a dog that has the personality and physical qualities that you loved in your now departed dog.  Cloning, inbreeding, linebreeding, or mating relatively unrelated GSD never produces uniformity of character and personality even within the same litter.  In most cases what we fall in love with in our dogs is their personality and character which takes time to develop and we partially shape ourselves as the dog is reared.  Good luck but love the dog you have .. difficult to replace an old friend now departed.

Both dogs you listed are very nice looking dogs!

It appears both of them did have progeny, as well as siblings. If you really want to stay with those bloodlines, try searching for the progeny, and the names of the kennels that bred them.

Another handy feature is the Reverse Linebreeding feature. If you click on it, you will find any dogs in the database that are linebred on a certain dog.

Good luck with your search!
