well...there hasnt been a whole lot of talk on this messageboard in a while and I thought that maybe talking about or posting pictures of your dogs would be kind of fun.

I have two white shepherds - my first is Ruby, or Vivid Daydreams Dionna.  I imported her to the United States from Holland almost a year ago, and she is 13 months old.  She is a fantastic dog - does anything I ask of her.  Currently we are training in Herding, SchH, and an American Protection Sport known as Service Dogs of America, or SDA.  Here are some pictures of her :

and my other White Shepherd is Leo, an American Bred male out of KY.  He is almost 8 months old and a firecracker.  I am training him up for SchH and SDA...though I am also going to do some herding with him as well :)  Here he is :

I look forward to hearing about everyone elses dogs as well :)

Hi there!

Love the pics of Ruby & Leo. Have recently become the proud owner of a White Shepherd. She is now 9months and her name is Roxy. She is a great big softie and loves the outdoor life! Here are some of our own pics.

We're very lucky to have plenty of choice when it comes to walks. Plenty of beaches, woodlands & hill walks within easy reach. We try to go somewhere different every day so that Rox doesn't get bored!

This is my beautiful snownosed rescue... "DUKE"  Was caught in the Waterbury Conn. area a few years back running with a pack of wild dogs he and one other dog from the pack were the only ones who showed some social skills and were put up for adoption.  Duke was returned by his first adoptors for Speration anxiety Disorder, Lack of Social abilites, Car sickness, and dislike of males (human). I fostered him for a couple weeks and found he was fairly comfortable in the household pack here... so he moved in.

This past February he suffered extreem trauma when My truck hit black ice, went sideways into a tree then rolled down a bank. Duke was thrown out the rear window and paniced...vanished.  The EMT folks with the ambulance were sympathetic but said we really needed to get to a hospital after a roll over crushed the cab on us. The Firemen and other EMT's stayed on site for 2 hours in the dead of night searching for him to no avail... Though we were fairly sure he'd been killed in the  crash I made multiple phone calls to vets and rescues in the area where the accident happened, and my sister put up signs with his picture over a 20 mile range.  A week later an elderly woman called in a timid voice and said.... "I may have seen your dog behind my house today."  As I was still not very moble a friend and my sister drove me up there (35miles) almost every day.  We didn't see him, but tracked him thru the woods on about a circut from that woman's house, where he'd held up in a tool shed to a kennel about 3 miles away.  Somehow I kept missing him though, and because of his past history of being wild he wouldn't come to anyone, and ran away limping, one paw bleeding from the crusted snow. We left food and bedding my other dogs had used in the shed for him... after 4 weeks of struggling thru snowdrifts searching (mind I never let my Dr know I wasn't doing "complete rest") we finally set a live trap for him hoping to catch him... but the trap sprung too early and scared him....  no dog...   no tracks for days... no word from any of the 5 families who had been watching him cruise by their house for the first 4 weeks.  A week went by and I again feared he was gone.  That Saturday we had horrible horrible thunderstorms... most unusual for early April... the thunder rolled all evening and most of the night.  I stood in an open window watching the torrential rain my heart breaking for Duke who was terrified of thunder beyond any dog I'd ever owned.  The next day we got a call from about 4 miles away that a white coyote had been seen running thru back yards along the lake.  I went and searched again for several hours with a woman from the local rescue. Totally depressed, as I really thought I'd find him that day... I headed for home stopping @ the grocery to pick up a few things on the way.  Over the loud speaker...  WILL XXXXXXXX PLEASE COME TO THE FRONT DESK... I got a message to call home immediately there was an emergency.  The emergency was that Duke had been sighted about 1 mile farther along than where I'd stopped searching.  A gentleman had come out his back door and saw a big white dog exhausted on his deck.  When he came out the dog had slunk off the porch and across the yard and lay by a woodpile. So he started calling around to see if anyone had lost one.  Round about thru the grapevine I got the message and raced back up to his house.  I was met at the road, and guided to where I could see Duke... for the first time in over 5 weeks... laying by the woodpile, footsore and exhausted from running away from the storm the day before.  It took over 20 minutes of very careful work to reassure him it WAS me... he would come a few feet toward me then run back and almost bolt into the
