I want to ask the breeders & show people a question. Those that show their dogs in Europe and/or America............ Why do you stack (stand) your dogs like German Shepherds ? The White Swiss is NOT a GSD and should NOT be shown nor judged like a GSD. The WSSD (BBS) is a breed on its own with full recognition from FCI. They should be stacked 4 square like all Herding dogs so the judge can see the level topline ! A WSSD should NOT be over-angulated like the GSD (sloping back) !

I think every one should do it the way they feel like it. If they keep winning, they must be doing something right.

it all depends on the judge... some like it and others don´t....

To the best of my knowledge 100% of all dogs used in creating the White Swiss Shepherd WERE registered German Shepherds, and as best I know the standard is the same as for GSD's excepting color.  The Stacking of the GSD with one foot farther back toward the judge, and one up under the belly is intended to excentuate the angulation that is there... it doesn't make a dog more angulated, nor create weakness in the rear quarters.  Poor breeding and lack of attention to angles and muscle/ligament strength creats weakness.

I understand your comments about "overangulation" and weakness in the rear relating to many of the show line (especially AKC) dogs and share the concern about focusing ONLY on sidegate and rears... but don't blame the stack for the creation of the problem. A properly built GSD can still scale a 6' wall with no problem. I doubt that many of the dogs winning in the AKC show ring for GSD's could manage it.  I hope that the White Swiss Shepherd avoids focus on extreems as years go by to keep it as sound as it has been since the WGSDCI in the US and the WGSDCC in Canada began showing them.

@zytron: Excellent, fantastic, wonderful comment!

@dreamworks white shepherds: Wrong. The standard demands a firm level.

@white spirit of dreams: Wrong. Judges that align WSSD like GSD should change their subject.

@windwalker18: Nope. The standards differ.

<<They should be stacked 4 square like all Herding dogs so the judge can see the level topline ! A WSSD should NOT be over-angulated like the GSD (sloping back)>>>

The GSD isn't supposed to have an over-angulated back either is it??
I don't know why people get so worked up about how the whites are stacked, seems sort of ridiculous.

@owcm: why is my statement wrong? it was just asked, why some people stack the bbs like gsd.
i only stated, that it depends on the judge! if the judge likes the stack, i stack my dog. if he does not, i dont.
that there is something which needs to change their point of looking at the bbs, was not the question... but i am with you on this subject.
