The Why not White Alsation kennel is a dutch kennel who breed German Shepherds (white) Al the dogs with the kennelname Why not White Alsation has pedigrees from the FCI Dutch kennelclub (RvB) as a German Shepherd (wrong colour white)

Here in Holland there are two different white shepherd dogs with FCI pedigrees. The German Shepherd (wrong colour white) and the White Swiss Shepeherd Dog these dogs can't be breed together because there are two different breeds.

Because of the rules from the FCI in Holland there are problems with the pedigrees. Swiss Shepherd Dogs with German Shepherds like Why Not White Alsation Dogs in there pedigree can't be in the breeding program of the White Swiss Shepherd Dog anymore. This is beause of the concerns from Swiss kennelclub.

In other country's also in Swiss they are breeding with dogs who have a Why Not White Alsation dog in the pedigrees from the White Swiss Shepherd Dog. Do they have problems from the kennelclubs to get pedigrees for the puppies?

so you in Holland will breed by this new rules?

by chrismart on 20 August 2007 - 17:08

If you want have a FCI pedigree than yes whe must breed by the new rules.

Also white shepherds from countrys who are register dogs as german shepherd (like america) can't be used anymore in de breedingprogram of the White Swiss Shepherd Dog also dogs who are reregistered as White Swiss Shepherd Dogs is a problem for us in the Netherlands. The breeding dogs has to be 3 generations White Swiss Shepherd Dog if 1 ore more dogs in the pedigree is not registered as a White Swiss Sheperd Dog the pups of that dog can't get a FCI pedigree.

But what will happened to all your dogs then?

I mean some breeders imported new blood to your country for a while ago, are you not allowed to use this?

by chrismart on 21 August 2007 - 07:08

When the Dutch kennelclub is holding on to this rules than no we can't use these dogs anymore in the breedingprogram also their offspring we can't use for breeding.

But how is that in other country's? It can't be so that this is only here in Holland?

Here in Holland it's because of the FCI circulair 77/2007 21-05-2007:

Circulaire  77/2007                              21.06.2007

White Swiss Shepherd Dog  (WSSD, 347)

As the responsible country for the breed standard White Swiss Shepherd Dog (WSSD, standard 347), the SKG informs us of their concern regarding the current situation as far as the breeding of this breed and the issuing of pedigrees by some FCI member countries are concerned.  We share their concern and observe that even after the recognition of the White Swiss Shepherd Dog (WSSD, standard 347) on 01.01.2003 (date of the official recognition), matings with non-purebred subjects (3 generations) from this breed continue to take place or that white German Shepherd Dogs with one or more coloured ancestor(s) are re-registered as WSSD.

We remind all FCI member organisations and contract partners that they have to comply with the following :

1. White Swiss Shepherd Dogs (347) CANNOT be mated with white German Shepherd Dogs (GSD, standard 166) since they are two distinct breeds with different breed standards.  In order to guarantee that both breeds are correctly separated, it is also important to respect what follows :

2. WSSD cannot be entered in the studbooks of this very breed if a part or all their ancestors (3 generations) were still registered, after 01.01.2003, as white German Shepherd Dogs.

3. It is not allowed to re-register as a WSSD (347) a dog which was registered as a white German Shepherd Dog (166) after 01.01.2003.

4. An accidental white German Shepherd Dogs (white puppy in a litter of German Shepherd Dogs) with one or more coloured ancestor(s) cannot be used for breeding as a WSSD nor can it be re-registered as a WSSD.

But have the Dutch kennelclub  decided to go on then?

I thought it was just a suggestion from their side?

by chrismart on 21 August 2007 - 22:08

Just a view moments ago i got a letter from the Dutch Kennelclub. They change their minds about the new rules.

We can go one with the normal breedingprogram like we used to be!

I am verry happy about that they changed their minds

Thats excellent news!  That must be why the AKC allows registration of the BBS coming from Holland as German Shepherds.
